DR DAVID INGRAM

MB ChB, DRCOG, MRCGP

Dr Ingram jobshares with Dr Purohit and works at the Harpenden Surgery. Wednesday morning, Thursday and Friday all day. He has been part of the partnership for over 25 years and has an interest in minor surgery.

DR TANIA GOODWIN

MB ChB, MRCGP

Dr Goodwin works at the Harpenden Surgery Monday and Tuesday all day and Wednesday morning. She fits coils and implants and will often provide an additional assessment of any dermoscopy photos taken by the partners.

DR KATHARINE SOLOMONS

BM DCH DRCOG MRCGP

Dr Solomons 'jobshares' with Dr Goodwin and works at the Harpenden Surgery. Wednesday all day, Thursday morning and Friday all day. She has been at the practice since 1999, fits coils and has a particular interest in diabetes and cardiovascular medicine.

DR PREETESH MODI

Dr Modi is full time except Thursdays at both surgeries. He is one of our training doctors.

Dr Purohit works at the Harpenden Surgery. Monday and Tuesday all day, Wednesday morning.

DR H├ůVARD MOLVIK

MD MRCS MSc MRCGP

Dr Molvik works full time, Tuesday til Friday with surgeries at both sites. He often performs minor ops and joint injections at the request of other partners.

DR JOHN RAWLES

Dr Rawles is full time and works at both surgeries. Friday afternoons off.

DR ANNA WHITEFORD

Dr Whiteford works at the Wheathampstead Surgery. Monday and Tuesday all day, and Wednesday mornings. She 'jobshares' with Dr Datta, fits coils and contraceptive implants and is one of our training doctors.

DR SUJANA DATTA

Dr Datta works at the Wheathampstead surgery . Wednesday mornings, Thursday and Friday all day. She is an associate trainer and helps out with our registrar training.

DR FARAH DASS

MBBS BSC MRCGP

After a successful time as one of our registrars, Dr Dass is now a full-time partner and works in both sites. She has Tuesday afternoons off.

Nurses

Our practice nurses are qualified and registered nurses who can help with a wide range of health issues. Some of the services they offer include advice about family planning, healthy-living advice and smoking cessation. They also run clinics for long-term health conditions such as asthma or diabetes. They can perform immunisations, blood pressure checks, cervical smears, ECGs (tracings of the heart), lung function tests, dressings, suture removals and much more. Some are also trained to deal with minor illnesses.

Emily is a trained paramedic who works for us an urgent care practitioner. She is able to see patients with minor illnesses under the supervision of our GPs.

Practice Manager

Our practice manager is here to ensure that the practice runs smoothly, co-ordinating and organising the team to provide the best service possible, while responding to the constant changes in General practice. She will help you with any administrative problems and is pleased to receive any suggestions you may have about improving the services available. Anita has worked at the Village Surgery since 2008.

Elaine supports our practice manager and play a key role in organisational tasks such as rota planning.

Administration

JANE SHEPHERD

Contracts Manager

Jane ensures patients are invited for annual checks of chronic disease (eg diabetes) to ensure their conditions are managed and monitored appropriately.

Reception

There are over 15 receptionists working across both sites. Our team of receptionists are here to help you make appointments to see the Doctors, Nurses and other healthcare practitioners. They also help you with other questions you may have about our services and your healthcare. If they cannot answer a query, they will find someone who can and will ensure your question is answered. They also help us to provide additional support for our more vulnerable patients eg Carers and Clinically extremely vulnerable patients.

Secretaries

We have four medical secretaries working across the two sites. They help to manage everything to do with hospital referrals and appointments, as well as requests for medical records, insurance reports etc.

Pharmacists

We have 2 clinical pharmacists working in our team, and in the other Harpenden GP surgeries. They will help resolve day to day medicine issues and provide advice and support for patients who take numerous medications. They will help oversee safe prescribing of medicines, and may also support the management of patients with long term conditions.

District Nurses

Our team of district nurses have great and wide-ranging experience in giving nursing care in the community. Health Visitors

Health visitors provide support and advice to families with children under five years old. They can help with mental, physical and social wellbeing. Midwives

Provision for expectant mothers is given in our weekly antenatal clinics by our two district midwives who also give care in the home for newly-delivered mothers and their babies.

Macmillan and Rennie Grove Nurses

We work closely with our local specialised nursing team, who provide care and support for those with cancer or another end-stage illness.

Physicians' Associate

We have a Physician associate, Zoe Tanter in our team, working with us and the other Harpenden GP surgeries. She is working alongside our urgent care practitioner and GPs seeing patients with minor conditions and first presentations of problems.

Physiotherapists

We have two first-contact physios, Lisa Simmonds and Miranda Lyell as part of our team, working with us and the other Harpenden GP surgeries. They are able to help patients with musculo-skeletal problems.

Social Services

Available for a wide range of problems including those experienced by the elderly, disabled, housebound, and mentally ill. Enquiries should be made by calling 0300 123 4042.
